Ca la Donna Furniture

Handcrafted solid timber furniture
made sustainably in the Yarra Valley.

We build Melbourne handmade furniture from locally reclaimed timbers — bespoke pieces in Tasmanian Oak, Blackwood, Victorian Ash, Jarrah, Sassafras, and Huon Pine. Each item is crafted by Matt in our Warburton workshop at the foot of Mt Donna Buang.

Hand tools including screwdrivers, mallet, hammers, paintbrush, saw, tape measure, and safety glasses on wooden wall.

About us

Sustainability, craftsmanship, and timeless design

Nestled among the trees in Warburton, Ca La Donna creates one‑of‑a‑kind furniture by hand. Matt learned his trade in Tasmania, specialising in solid timber design, and brings that tradition into every build. Our focus is simple: beautifully practical pieces that will live with you for decades.

Every project begins with a conversation — a sketch, an idea, or a feeling for how you want your space to work.

Materials & Craftsmanship

We work only with beautiful, solid timbers sourced from reclaimed local pieces. Each board has its own character — grain, tone, and history — and we design around those natural features to bring warmth and longevity to your space.

Our process

Reclaimed, local timbers — no two pieces are ever the same.

The Charo — a signature piece for music lovers

A handcrafted stand for your record player and everything that goes with it: vinyl, stereo, speakers, and more. Build it compact or expand with extra modules to suit your setup — from amplifiers to larger collections. Each Charo is custom‑built to your dimensions in reclaimed timber.

Look closely: natural variations in each board bring character and warmth. Details like chamfered inside edges and rounded legs give a refined, Scandinavian‑inspired feel.
